小作文的语言要求并不高。不需要语言过于华丽和复杂。只要意思表达清楚，做到准确就可以了。所以同学们在写小作文时，要注意自己单词拼写以及句子的结构。同学们经常犯的错误，比如时态，单复数，主谓一致等问题。在写的时候，一定要细心。此外，还要注意标点符号，尤其是逗号和句号的使用。
2、格式正确
书信的格式有两种齐头式和缩进式。同学们对于缩进式很熟悉。所以这里主要说一说缩进式。用缩进式写作文时，首先顶格写称呼，写完称呼后，之后加逗号。下面是正文部分，写三段。每一段开头向里缩进4个英文字符的.距离。写完正文之后，最后是结尾部分。结尾部分包括礼貌用语，可以写Sincerely yours，最后再写署名。
3、语域恰当

我的心一下子提到了嗓子眼，心想：爸爸一向对我的英语抓得很紧，如果我不属于这个学得好的行列，那我该如何向父母交待呢？
老师开始念了“李怡慧，一百，韩雨婷，一百，贺小轩，一百~~~~”班里很静，没有一个人提出反对意见，只见那纸一点一点的变薄，我的心也仿佛离地越来越高。“李洁，九十八，陈莹，九十九，~~~~~”仍然没有我的，我的手心里冒出了一点汗，“秦天枫，九十四，葛格，九十八，”班里响起了一点骚动，突然几个人大喊到“一定是抄书的”！这一喊，老师也停了下来问道“是不是抄的？”
“我~~~~~~”葛格心虚的低下了头，“下回直接抄两遍！”老师气愤地说“田鑫，九十~~~~”“抄的，绝对是抄的！”老师还没念完，就有人抢先喊到。“是不是抄的？”
“是， 我可以做证，我看见他抄书了！”田鑫还没来得及为自己狡辩，他的同桌刘小林就抢着说了真相，“下回抄两遍”老师说。
终于念到我了，一百分，没有一个人说我是抄的。
