寓言故事英语作文 篇一

The Fox and the Grapes

Once upon a time, there was a hungry fox wandering in the forest. He came across a beautiful vine with bunches of ripe, juicy grapes hanging from it. The fox's mouth watered at the sight of the grapes and he decided to have a taste. He jumped up and tried to reach the grapes, but no matter how hard he tried, the grapes were just out of his reach.

The fox tried again and again, but each time he failed to get the grapes. Frustrated, the fox finally gave up and walked away, muttering to himself, "Those grapes are probably sour anyway. Who needs them?"

The moral of this fable is that it is easy to despise what you cannot have. Instead of admitting defeat and moving on, the fox chose to belittle the grapes to make himself feel better. This story teaches us the importance of perseverance and humility, and reminds us that sometimes the things we desire may not be as great as we imagine them to be.

寓言故事英语作文 篇二

The Tortoise and the Hare

In a forest, there lived a speedy hare who loved to boast about how fast he could run. One day, he came across a slow-moving tortoise and laughed at him, saying, "You are so slow! I could beat you in a race without even breaking a sweat."

The tortoise, undeterred by the hare's taunts, challenged him to a race. The hare, feeling confident in his speed, agreed and the race began. The hare quickly took the lead and, seeing how far behind the tortoise was, decided to take a nap under a tree.

While the hare slept, the tortoise continued to plod along at his slow but steady pace. When the hare finally woke up, he was shocked to see the tortoise near the finish line. With all his might, the hare sprinted towards the finish line, but it was too late. The tortoise had won the race.

The moral of this fable is that slow and steady wins the race. The hare's overconfidence and arrogance led to his downfall, while the tortoise's perseverance and determination allowed him to achieve victory. This story teaches us the importance of humility, hard work, and never underestimating the abilities of others.
